Dam Removal and Ecological Restoration 101 Training

On October 26th, 2023, the Collaborative hosted a Dam Removal Conference at Clark University. In the morning, we had experts speak about funding, permitting, and gaining public support for a dam removal project. In the afternoon, we held a stakeholder consensus charette using materials from The Dam Atlas, created by Emily Vogler.

The Blackstone River is located in the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Narragansett, Nipmuc, Pokanoket, and Wampanoag Nations.

Our indigenous partners have been integral in our dam removal efforts on the Blackstone.
