Help the Blackstone River Watershed Council/ Friends of the Blackstone pull invasive water chestnuts at Slatersville Reservoir!
Water Chestnut is a highly aggressive aquatic plant native to Eurasia and Africa that forms dense floating mats in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. It devastates local ecosystems by blocking sunlight, suffocating native plants, and depleting dissolved oxygen, while its razor-sharp, horned seeds are dangerous to swimmers.
This event is open to the public. Bring your own kayak or use a canoe provided by Friends of the Blackstone.
